My name is Hanna Skiba, and I’ve been learning Portuguese since about one and a half month. So I came to Brazil hardly knowing anything. And first I’ve started learning by talking to my classmates, four Brazilian girls, and ... by practicing through studying it by myself, through friends also ...  there were a friend of mine I used to talk in German he helped me with my Portuguese. And I started taking classes here. and I think it improved drastically through the classes but also just because I use it in daily life. And it is not so hard to me to learn because I think... I speak French very well, so somehow it is similar, but of course there’ll be differences also. And pronunciation is the harder part for me... Reading is ok, through French I can understand a lot already but definitely understanding is hard. Things are just different from what I think it should sound like

- Did you start learning Portuguese here or did you start before...

No, here. And at home, maybe, three lessons with a friend of mine, reading too much. No, almost all this year.

- And what are your feelings about your process? Do you think it’s been harder, easier? ...

I think it’s almost easier than I thought. I am learning much faster than I thought because I use it a lot ... to talk to friends, and specially because they really try to talk slowly and it helps me a lot. And those who can speak English, they can always translate, and so I can pick it up like, I think, faster and ... that’s it.

- Do you want to add something else?

No.

- Do you intend to go on studying Portuguese ...

After [...] I plan to, I think,  because I’ve been taking for two months and think I talk much better and I think when I leave on March I hope it will be ok, so, yes, I tend to continue, I think, ‘cause I like the language a lot, I like the way it is spoken ...
