I started
studying English when I was nine years old and my father gave me the
first English classes at home. He used to work on board traveling
in a ship, and then he realized it would be important for us to study
English and he bought a video course and started teaching us. This
experience didn’t last much it was an adult course and it didn’t
fit for me especially so.
Later he bought a kids course and I watched it a lot but I didn’t
practice very much like exercises, and that kind of stuff. I only
watched, it was a cartoon and it was Britain English. Then when I
was about eleven years old, I went to an English school, and this
time was when I really started study like frequently, I went to class
twice a week and I had homework, and texts and all that kind of school
thing.
Then I studied in this English school for about two years and a half.
And I moved from the town where I lived so far and then I kept in
touch with English language only in my regular high school. When I
was eighteen I came to Belo Horizonte to start my university degree,
to get my university degree and I started going to an English school
again and it last for a year and then I stopped. And I kept in touch
with English mainly through movies, and songs it was very seldom read
the text in English, but sometimes it happened. This was like from
nineteen to twenty four, and then when I was twenty four I started
another graduation and I started studying English again at the university
because I started studying Languages, so I’ve kept up to now.
I read the book I go to the classes and I do a lot of exercises and
now I am also giving classes. And I went to the United States last
year and I spend about four months there. This was my most intensive
time of being in touch with English. Then I came back to Brazil and
after that I started giving classes and I keep studying English, and
I try to read American Literature and always looking for improvement.
