MAKING A CONTACT PROJECT

We would like you to find yourselves a keypal, that is, an e-mail correspondent. Needless to say, we'd like you to get in touch with someone you will communicate with in English. This task will be divided into THREE parts:

1. PLANNING THE FIRST MESSAGE

The group is supposed to discuss the ideal content for the first message. So answer the following question WHAT SHOULD WE INCLUDE IN OUR FIRST MESSAGE? We would like to give you the first suggestion. Talk a little bit about Brazil and include some links so that your future keypals could get interesting information about our country. If you don't know any link, use the search engines to find some good ones.

2. FINDING A KEYPAL

On the web there are several sites that give you access to people from all over the world willing to have e-mail partners. Here are some of them:

http://www.penpalgarden.com/

http://www1.oup.co.uk/elt/internet.english/keypals.html

http://www.en.eun.org/eun.org2/eun/en/collaboration/sub_area_frame.cfm?sa=121&id_area=4&row=1

http://www.eslcafe.com

So try to get in touch with one or more keypals. And please, tell us how your Making Contact project is going!!!

3. COLLECTING MESSAGES

Save 10 samples of your correspondence (5 you sent and 5 you received) along the semester, print them and leave them at your teacher's office -- Vera's office (room 4036) and Ricardo’s office (4038) -- till the end of the semester and get 10 MARKS.
