Learning in school. Concentrated too much on grammar and formal English. Big groups and not enough practical learning.
From 15-years I’ve been able to speak english abroad, sister lives in Belgium. This has been very useful for my english skills and ability to be able to express my orally.
Also playing computer and other hobbies in teenage years encouraged to find out more about English.
I think that I know pretty well how to speak english and I’m able to express myself orally. I would like to concentrate on academic english and also take part in some presentation groups or so on. I’d like to achieve skills that are universally useful and not just english skills.
I’m probably somewhere on C1-level in english. I think that my spoken english is better, simply because I’ve done that more than writing.
For me the best way to learn languages in big groups is some kind of “forced interaction” in a way that includes a bit of healthy humiliation (which I think is rather rare in Finland) so that I really have to concentrate on what is done.
I took part in student Seminar in April and that also made me more confident in my english skills.
