My English`s studies

 

            I started studying English when I was fourteen. It was a state school. The English discipline was obligatory four years only. The quality of studies was not very good. I had two different teachers in this period. One of them taught “verb To Be” every year. The other teacher also gave point`s grammar.

            How we know, for to learn a foreign language is necessary the development of four abilities: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Unhappily, I did not have opportunity for learn that abilities. The classroom was full and the teachers always said: “It is impossible give lessons in English.” In that time, for me, English had a Portuguese form.

            When I begin to do an arts course, Letras, I had a different point of view. Firstly, the lessons were in English with speaking and listening activities. Second and third period, I thought much difficult and sometimes I was afraid to continue. It was very different for me, never I talked to other person in English. Later I was practice the lessons. Then, I started to think it interesting. From that time, I started taking a course in order to improve my knowledge. I was in the fifth period of my course.

            On the other hand, I had an opportunity of substitute one teacher in a children school for a short time. I liked very much because they stayed so happy when learned English. Besides, the knowledge of English today is very important to our studies. I am in the seventh period of my course and I love learning English. Because of this I chose more disciplines related to English.
