My name is Alysson Arcangelo De Souza Pimenta

I’m currently studying English at   but before everything I started with this English learning Idea since I was a little boy and ever since I started to study this language by myself by using songs   or   watching movies and so on.

I remember when I was younger and my mother couldn’t afford an English course so I started to find autonomous ways to get in touch with the language until I had an opportunity to enroll in an actual language course

During this hard time I remember watching a TV show on  called “Pé da Letra”,

In this show they used to play a video clip and put translated subtitles on it, I remember watching almost all the programs of the show and I learned many expressions and vocabulary by watching it, thanks to                          

I’ve learned that wanna and gonna are the same as going to and want to =]

Later on when I started learning English at school I used to read the whole book before the rest of the class and by the end of the month I had the entire subject studied and I usually got bored with the slowlyness of the classes.

I also used Internet chat rooms in 1997/98 to practice and even to learn more by finding a pen pal and practicing the new language with him, I used to access  mIRC chat room but I don't use such service anymore. here follows a video about how to add a server to mIRC so you can get to IRCstorm.net Chat Rooms or any IRC Chat Network if you are interested =]

 I remember entering the public rooms on this website and starting conversations with other people without even knowing the verb to be properly but it was a really productive and interesting experience.

Then I had a chance to study the language at Fundação and I’ve learned a lot 

there it was in 1997, in 1998 I’ve entered  to study Edificações and there I had Inglês Instumental as a subject (and it was my favorite one because it was in English).

Then I finished my course there and stated working at Adras a

 Técnico em Edificações but I wasn’t feeling fulfilled so I decided to try letras 

at UFMG in 2002 after working 2 years as a technician, I passed the

vestibular and stated with this amazing course where I could improve more 

and more my skills especially when I started teaching at and 

other private courses such as  and 

Nowadays I’m about to graduate and thinking about a masters degree next 

year related to linguistics and with Vera Menezes’s support =]
